The music curriculum at Rowe
School is drawn from a variety of sources and is based on the National
Standards for Music Education. Emphasis is given to activities that are
active and hands on and give children an opportunity to experience
musical concepts in their bodies. Each class begins with a warm-up to
get singing voices and musical minds and bodies ready to learn. Then
children experience musical concepts in multiple ways, focusing on the
musical "ings",
singing, playing instruments, listening and moving to music and
creating original music. Self-control, leadership and teamwork skills are embedded into each lesson.
